Design Do's and Don'ts to Boost Your Airbnb Bookings Part 2

Design is an important part of your listing and can impact your bookings. After all, when people are looking for a place to stay, they want to make sure that the property they’re renting looks nice and comfortable.

This is why it’s important to make sure that your listing is designed in a way that will attract potential guests and make them feel at home. In part one of this series, we focus on all the do’s that an Airbnb host should do.

Now, let’s look into a couple of don'ts for your Airbnb design:

1) DON’T Showcase Pictures with People

Don’t include pictures of people in your listing. This can be seen as unprofessional and can make potential guests feel uncomfortable. On top of that, it can remove a bit of attention from your property rental's design. Instead, focus on showcasing the space in an attractive way and highlight different inclusions you've made.

2) DON’T Cram Up Your Space

Don’t overcrowd the space with too much furniture or decorations. It can be tempting to try and make your space look more appealing, but it can actually have the opposite effect. Too much furniture can make the space look cluttered and cramped, which is not the look you want to go for. Keep it simple and tasteful.

3) DON’T Give Your Guests Heavy Responsibilities

Avoid giving your guests too many instructions on how to use the property rental or any responsibilities with maintaining the Airbnb's design. It can be annoying and overwhelming for them. Instead, provide a basic overview of the property and its amenities. They will appreciate the freedom and trust you’ve given them.

4) DON’T Have an Overwhelming Theme

Having a theme for your Airbnb rental can be a great way to make the space unique and inviting. However, make sure you don’t go overboard. An overwhelming theme can be distracting and even off-putting for guests. Stick to one or two elements that you can easily carry throughout the design.

5) DON’T Mislead About Amenities

When you are advertising your property, make sure that you are honest about the amenities that are included. Don’t try to oversell by exaggerating certain design features of the property or by not mentioning some amenities that are not included.

6) DON’T Downplay the Rental’s Architecture

If your Airbnb property rental has unique architectural features, make sure you showcase them. Create a design that would highlight the unique qualities of the building and the surrounding area to make it stand out from other listings.

7) DON’T Play Safe and Go Basic

An Airbnb property rental should stand out from the rest. Make sure that you are not playing it safe by going with basic designs and descriptions. Use unique design elements and get creative with fun colors and patterns.

Conclusion

Following the design do’s and don’ts to boost your Airbnb bookings can help you to differentiate your listing from the competition and make a great first impression on potential guests. By creating a visually appealing listing, you can attract more guests and get the bookings you want.
